Mass Innovation Nights at Intrepid Labs

Have to start off this round-up/follow-up blog post with a big shout out to the Intrepid Labs team and the residents of this cool loft/co-working space.  Entrepreneurship isn't a 9-5 gig but at 5:00 pm everyone put away their work and helped transform the space into Mass Innovation Nights #42. Thank you, thank you, thank you, from all the participants.  Without great partners like you, Mass Innovation Nights couldn't exist.

Crowdfunding Innovators

Here's the moment you've all been waiting for -- our team of Crowdfunders for Crowdfunding Innovation.  We have an incredible assortment of projects to support (with your dollars, or your network, Mass Innovation Nights-style.)  Our SPECIAL live event will be at the Microsoft NERD Center on September 19, the week AFTER our regular monthly event, Mass Innovation Nights #42!  (Tickets and separate registration required -- go here!)

Foodie 2012

On what could be called the best date for a food event ("ate, ate" or August eighth), hundreds of innovation supporters crowded the CummingsTradeCenter 128 Atrium to sip, snack and savor local innovation.  The Annual Mass Innovation Nights Foodie event, hosted by Cummings Properties and sponsored by Roche Brothers and Hyperion Law, was a big draw, both for new friends and old.  More than our usual visibility event, MIN41 was notable not just for the food innovation surrounding our hundreds of guests but for the real connections and impact it provided for local businesses.

Crowdfunding Innovation

You've heard of Kickstarter, Indiegogo and the crowdfunding craze. Now MIN is getting involved! We're holding a special event on Wednesday September 19th, "Crowdfunding Innovation". Crowdfunding Innovation is designed to help you make sense of what's happening right now in the crowdfunding space. With the passage of the JOBS act, we've seen a surge in crowdfunding -- not yet equity-based (expected next year) but focused on rewards.

Four Hundred Product Launches Later

You heard correctly.  Four hundred product launches.  400.  4 hundred.  Whoa.  Gotta sit down and catch my breath. MIN40  -- another fantastic, fun night!  Great products -- turned things up to 11 (with an extra product...wait, does this make 401 product launches?)
We'll be collecting the posts, video, pictures, tweets, etc. and putting them right here... an evolving blog post.  Of course, Janet Egan gives us a great event overview, every time! Jen Kaye, from our PR and Marketing team, covered the four featured presenters.

Who's a Food NERD?

We're borrowing our blog title from Boston Teawright's Caleb who asked this question when he was presenting his craft tea company at the Microsoft New England Research & Development (NERD) Center.  While NoshOnIt represented the entire breadth and depth of our technology at the event, there is more than one way to be a NERD, and all of the companies, experts and guests could probably display their own brand of nerdiness when it comes to their entrepreneurial venture.  And, heck, when you think about it, we all need technology in some way to support our business venture, whether it's a w

Mass Innovation Nights #49: Back to the Mill

Our 49th event, held at the new offices of Fresh Tilled Soil in Watertown felt like a bit of a return home -- back to a mill where Mass Innovation Nights got its start.  It wasn't the same mill but this one too had the big windows, beautiful high ceilings and exposed brick walls that make such a wonderful backdrop for a new product launch! With a great crowd of social media mavens, we were ready to go.  Thanks to the Watertown Patch (and our usual innovation partners) for helping to promote

Mass Innovation Nights 48: At the Lansdowne Pub

Four years ago we launched a website and offered to throw a product launch party for local companies with new products.  We figured we'd get some of our social media friends to help spread the word, Tweet, Like and maybe post some video and pictures.  Four years later, we found ourselves at the Lansdowne Pub in Boston, doing the same thing, but with a crop of exciting new products.  Big thanks to the team at the Lansdowne Pub for making it all possible!  What great hosts!  Did you like their apps?  (No, not mobile apps but appetizers!)

Mass Innovation Nights at Game On Boston - MINFun

Mass Innovation Nights are usually a wild mix of different products - no matter what you do, or are interested in, you can usually find something that pertains to you. Let other events feature row upon row of same old, same old.  We like to mix it up.  Even when we do a theme event, like our Foodie events, there is still a wild array -- a website, a baker, artisanal salts, an app, etc.
